Components

The Asoka® HomePlug® Modules allow developers to easily embed HomePlug into products to add support for powerline networking at speeds up to 200 Mbps. The modules are based on Intellon's INT5500CS (85Mbps) and newer 200Mbps chipsets and integrate most of the components required for HomePlug functionalities on a tiny single in-line package. Each module can be easily connected into any existing embedded system via Intellon's proprietary SIMPLE PowerBus header, instantly adding HomePlug functionality with virtually no PCB space, and without the hassle of a system redesign.

Each module integrates AFE ICs, crystal oscillator circuit, flash, line drivers, and required filter circuitry. The PLC coupler, transient protection, and AC zero-cross detector are the only external components required on the AC side of the main power supply.

Available with either an MII PHY or MII Host/DTE interface, the modules are designed for compact vertical or right-angle mounting with a minimum footprint.
