The PlugLAN™ 8550 SmartPoint from Asoka® works with the PlugLAN Gateway and other components in the PlugLAN family, delivering a complete high-speed networking solution to commercial buildings and Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs). This portable customer premises equipment (CPE) device provides instant wireless connectivity, as well as a wired Ethernet port, by simply plugging into any PlugLAN enabled electrical outlet.

Using the PlugLAN 8550
Featuring an integrated wireless access point as well as an RJ 45 LAN port, the 8550 SmartPoint extends network coverage and establishes a secure connection to the PlugLAN system over existing electrical lines, delivering speeds up to 54 Mbps wirelessly and 85 Mbps over the power lines. Perfect for multitenant residences or commercial offices, the 8550 SmartPoint can connect a printer or workstation with a wired connection while providing wireless internet access for mobile users.
