The PlugLAN™ 8350 Wireless SmartTap™ from Asoka® works with the PlugLAN Gateway and other components in the PlugLAN family to deliver a complete high-speed networking solution optimized for hotels and hospitality environments. This tamper-proof, permanent-mount customer premises equipment (CPE) provides one wired Ethernet port for VoIP telephone service, plus a wireless access point for High Speed Internet Access (HSIA), while retaining the use of both electrical outlets.
Using the PlugLAN 8350
The 8350 Wireless SmartTap installs quickly and permanently using tamper-proof screws. Featuring an integrated wireless access point and an RJ-45 LAN port, the 8350 Wireless SmartTap establishes a secure, high-speed Ethernet connection to the PlugLAN system over existing electrical lines at speeds up to 85 Mbps and delivers speeds up to 54 Mbps wirelessly. The 8350 Wireless SmartTap combines robust wireless performance with advanced security and network management functionalities. Built-in data encryption and VLAN capabilities ensure security and privacy to every client. Each device can be controlled either independently or by using Asoka’s PowerViewTM management software.
